Dr. Carlos Fernando Mourão is an internationally recognized dental surgeon, educator, and researcher with extensive experience in oral surgery, implant dentistry, bone regeneration, and translational dental research. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, where he is involved in clinical and translational sciences, surgical education, clinical trials, and mentorship of dental students and researchers.
With a career spanning academic dentistry, private practice, military service, and international teaching, Dr. Mourão brings a unique combination of surgical expertise, scientific leadership, and real-world clinical experience to Expert Dental Solutions. He has trained dentists and students across multiple institutions and countries, with a strong focus on practical surgical confidence, evidence-based decision-making, and patient-centered care.
As the Founder and CEO of Expert Dental Solutions, Dr. Mourão designed advanced hands-on dental courses for licensed dentists seeking to improve their skills in oral surgery and implant dentistry. The company's training model reflects his belief that high-quality education should combine scientific foundation, direct mentorship, and real clinical experience with live-patient procedures.
Dr. Mourão's research focuses on bone regeneration, platelet concentrates, biomaterials, implant dentistry, and translational applications of regenerative technologies. He is the author or co-author of more than 220 scientific manuscripts and is also the creator of Alb-PRF, a platelet-rich fibrin concept developed to expand the clinical and biological potential of autologous blood concentrates in regenerative medicine and dentistry.
